What happens when women working – and thriving – in tech come together at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung?
A strong and inspiring network emerges – and that’s exactly what happened yesterday evening at the MPI in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

On the invitation of Mechsyn and in cooperation with NRW.Global Business, around 30 inspiring women – founders, experts, engineers, chemists, and other passionate professionals – gathered to learn more about the exciting journey of MechSyn and Dr. Özgül Agbaba, and to exchange ideas and experiences.

Also joining were koala startup network and Women in Tech NRW, which has already created valuable opportunities for women to connect and build a strong community.

Dr. Verena Schultz-Coulon, Administrative Director at the MPI, welcomed the participants from across North Rhine-Westphalia and highlighted the institute’s research – from its opening in 1914 up to today – also reflecting on the role women have played in its history.

The takeaway from the evening?
Networks for women matter – in their professional lives and beyond. Because exchange creates value, drives innovation in technology, and builds impact.
