We are proud to share that MechSyn has been recommended for funding as one of 20 selected projects within the “Grüne Gründungen NRW” initiative under the EFRE/JTF Programme NRW 2021–2027.
This funding will enable us to build a first-of-its-kind industrial-scale mechanochemical prototype, automated and engineered for:
• Environmentally friendly manufacturing of high-performance nanomaterials
• Degradation of toxic and persistent waste streams
• Enabling sustainable materials innovation and circular value chains
Mechanochemistry allows chemical reactions to occur through mechanical energy instead of wet chemical and high-temperature processes. This approach offers significant advantages:
• Solvent-free synthesis
• Lower energy consumption
• Reduced emissions
• Safer and scalable production pathways
• New reaction routes not accessible via conventional chemistry
The recommended funding marks an important step toward large-scale sustainable material synthesis and advanced recycling technologies.
We believe mechanochemistry will become a key enabling technology for climate-neutral production and the circular economy in Europe and beyond
